NEW YORK STATE CHAPLAIN TASK FORCE in collaboration with the INSTITUTE FOR CLINICAL PASTORAL TRAINING announces Clinical Pastoral Education Interactive Distance Learning for students across the United States and abroad.
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) offered by ICPT is a unique faith experience in education for persons seeking personal and professional growth, and competence in pastoral and spiritual care (also known as chaplaincy) as well as a dynamic, interpersonal, process-oriented educational experience set in an environment where participants feel free to openly share, care for, support, challenge, and respect one another. In CPE, the faculty works to develop a learning environment that is supportive and stimulating, and where students feel confident to risk interpersonal growth and learning through this cutting edge program of instruction.
*Clinical hours are supervised by NYSCTF and can be completed at your CURRENT place of ministry.
Some of the benefits include:
• earning seminary or college credit, or a religious denomination's pre-requisite for ordination through a nationally recognized program;
• professional continuing education requirements;
• clinical pastoral education requirements for certification as a professional chaplain, or a CPE supervisor;
• to help laypersons clarify vocational interests and calling regarding ministry;
• to strengthen and improve on awareness and skills in providing spiritual care;
• to gain a better sense of personal and pastoral identity; and
• to provide qualified graduates* the opportunity to earn supplemental income working as a staff chaplain, pool or contract chaplain with local organizations such as hospitals, hospices, and prisons.
