Alejandro Zayas was born on August 12, in Brooklyn, New Yprk, and is of Puerto Rican descent. He was raised in the musical melting pot of Queens, New York. He is the second youngest of five children. Alejandro attended a local church with his grandmother where at the age of 6 he played the drums during services. Alejandro showed leadership skills early on in his life. At the church he attended he was elected Children’s President and then Youth President. While in high school, Alejandro served on the New York City Department of Education Student Chancellor’s Advisory Committee. He went on to work as an event planner and artist promoter. His first job was as personal assistant to Latin Grammy winner Samuel Hernandez. Alejandro later went on to become the Executive Director of the Puerto Rican Parade & Festival of New York, Inc. and The Brooklyn Three Kings Parade, Inc. where he promoted many celebrity artists including, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Victor Cruz, Daddy Yankee, La India, Omega, Luis Enrique, Jerry Rivera, Dynasty, and many more. Shortly thereafter, Alejandro was hired as a Coordinator for the Premios Juventud NYC sponsored by Telemundo. In addition to event planning and working with celebrities, Alejandro serves on the boards of The Children’s Evangelical Parade, Inc., United United Clergy Coalition, Inc., Asociación de Ministros, Inc., the 90th Precinct Clergy Council, Inc., 116th Festival, Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade, NYPD La Jara, and the National Latino Peace Officer Association, Inc.
